time for a change

My blog needs a makeover.  When I started this blog almost one year ago, I really didn't think I'd stick with it. Follow through has never been my strong point.  Not wanting to waste money on what I feared would be a short lived endeavor, I found a free background and started writing.  Ten months later I'm still writing.  I think that deserves a legit blog design. I'm tired of the boring background {yawn} and I'd really like a three column layout.  And some color!    If this blog was an outfit, it would be mom jeans and a cardigan.  Gross.  I'd really prefer something more akin to a fun, flirty sundress.

Unfortunately, I'm completely clueless when it comes to all things computer/html/graphic design {are those even the right words?} so I'm definitely not the right person for this job.  I'm going to have to staff this one out.

This is where I need your help.  I know there are so many talented blog designers out there - who do you recommend?  If you know of a great blog designer, please help a girl out and leave me a comment with their name.

Thanks for the help friends & Happy Saturday to you all!  The Mister and I are headed to dinner at a new Mexican restaurant tonight.  So looking forward to eating my weight in guacamole spending a night out with my husband.

I didn't think I would stick blogging out either, so I thought by having someone design it for me and having to spend money would be an incentive. It was!

I used A Design of Faith. You can find her button on my blog and I think she is fantastic. I had seen a lot of her work on other blogs that I read, way before I started blogging. Hope you find something you like with her or someone else!

Mom jeans and a cardigan? Hehe:)

My blog was designed by Krizzy designs. I loved her, and she was SO easy to work with! Her website is: http://www.krizzydesigns.com/

Good luck with your new design!

I have used several blog designers so here would be my advice:
email a few and ask them

- prices and give specifics of what you want, because some of them sneak in these little " $10 add on this or $20 add on that fees
- Turn Around Time

The last girl I used has been my fav blog designer yet and her prices were very reasonable for what she does

Hey Melissa, I'd highly recommend Scoop by Beth (http://scoopbybeth.blogspot.com/). She did a FANTASTIC job with my blog design - she is also very friendly, quick to respond, and reasonably priced. Hope this helps, good luck!

I used a prefab layout from Penny Lane Designs... Marina will take one of her current designs and customize it for you and it's much cheaper that way way and is still cute & custom. (she also does complete custom designs as well)

Loved working with Marina from Penny Lane Designs...www.pennnylanedesigns.net
Gave her a general idea about what I wanted and she took suggestions and we talked about it until it was exactly right! She was fast and very friendly. And having no experience working with a web designer before, I thought it was super affordable.

Please, please, please consider a family from my adoption agency!!! She is doing complete blog make overs, headers, and buttons for a VERY reasonable price! 100% of the funds are going toward her 2nd adoption! Here is her blogspot~ She has lots of examples on her blog!

I just emailed Beth with scoop designs (thanks Sara for the suggestion!) to inquire about a new header and background. I'm in the mood for something new too! Good luck finding something :)

Let me know if you find someone you love - I'm in need of a make-over too! I've been thinking about it for a while but have just been too lazy to do anything!
